Hygiene and Food Safety

All our venues have implemented a Food Safety System in accordance with legal regulations. This objective was achieved only through the creation of a Department of Quality, regular and continuous training for employees and regular monitoring of our processes, from the sourcing of raw materials to customer service.

Opinion Article “Quality and Food Safety”

Nowadays we are constantly bombarded with the word "quality" everywhere we go: at work as professionals, at shopping centres as citizens and as consumers at home. But what, in fact, is quality? Quality is a vast and even subjective concept, but it must be agreed upon that for a company in the food business, Quality and Food Hygiene are inextricably linked.

According to the Codex Alimentarius (a highly-regarded international organisation), Food Hygiene is the existence of all conditions and measures necessary to ensure the safety and adequacy for consumption of food through all the stages of the chain. By “safe food” we mean food that does not harm the consumer's health, and it makes sense to add adequacy for consumption, as food may not cause damage to one’s health but may be unfit for human consumption, taking into account its intended use (due to external or other contamination, putrefaction, deterioration or decay).

Therefore we would like to reinforce that at Silva Carvalho Catering, customer satisfaction is our goal and Food Quality and Hygiene is our motto, which pushes us forward, always seeking to do more and better!
